Saras Mela - Patna - 2017
Patna: Bihar Rural Development Minister Shrawan Kumar on Thursday inaugurated Jeevika-sponsored Saras Mela themed 'Hunarmand Mahila, Khush-haal Parivar' (Talented Women, Happy Family) at Gandhi Maidan in Patna where more than 350 stalls have been set up to showcase handicraft from a number of states.
Like in previous years, the annual fair where women get an opportunity to showcase their handicraft – be it clothing items, paintings, decorative items, or furniture – kicked off amidst a host of activities including 'nukkad-natak', folk cultural programs, food stalls serving items to appeal to varied taste buds, and games and contests offering free gifts to the winners.

The Colours Used
The main colours used are green, yellow and pink/red.Yellow signifies peace or samriddhi, Pink/red signifies sacrifice and green signifies happiness.
